General — El Dorado Fire Rescue

Last updated Apr 04, 2026

Our Mission

El Dorado Fire Rescue exists to protect the lives, property, and environment of the El Dorado community and the surrounding areas of Santa Fe County. We respond to fires, medical emergencies, vehicle accidents, technical rescues, and hazardous materials incidents — 24 hours a day, 365 days a year — staffed entirely by trained volunteer members of the community we serve.

Beyond emergency response, we are committed to fire prevention education, community outreach, and building the kind of relationships that make a neighborhood safer before an emergency ever happens.

Our Values

  • Service — We exist to serve our neighbors, without exception and without hesitation.
  • Integrity — We hold ourselves to the highest standards of honesty and professionalism, both on scene and off.
  • Preparedness — We train continuously so that when the call comes, we are ready.
  • Teamwork — No one operates alone. We trust each other with our lives and act accordingly.
  • Community — We are your neighbors first. Our connection to this community is what drives everything we do.

Our Team

El Dorado Fire Rescue is staffed entirely by volunteers — your neighbors, friends, and fellow community members who dedicate their time and energy to keeping El Dorado safe. Our members hold certifications ranging from Firefighter I and II to EMT, Hazmat Operations, and Driver/Operator. Many of our members have decades of experience in fire service.

The department is led by a Chief and command staff, and is governed by a Board of Directors that oversees the business and financial operations of the organization. Meet our officers →
